So incredibly excited to honor Etta James by singing her mega hit “At Last” Have you ever had a person that you look up to and you just LOVE everything they do? That’s Etta for me! When I was 4, my nanny Angeline, would play Etta James for me. We would sway and let that incredible voice wash over us. When I asked Angeline “how can she sing like that?” The grandest smile spread across her face and she said “Because it’s her soul that’s doin’ the singing”.
Etta’s voice broke barriers, genres and still has that goosebump factor! She is the timeless voice that influences the best singers alive: Beyonce, Christina Aguilera and Chris Stapleton. You can prove this for yourself by listening to Etta’s “I’d Rather Go Blind” and then “Tennessee Whiskey”.

3 quick tips to help you rock your next Zoom or video meeting:
1) Level Up - Dress 1 level more formal than the occasion calls for (bonus points if you add a pop of color: scarf or pocket square)
2) Find Your Light - Sit in front of a window or a direct light source, so that the laptop is in between you & the light (try to avoid overhead lights at all costs)
3) Power Positioning - Make sure your laptop camera, iPad, or phone camera is at your eyebrow level, looking down can create shadows on your face, while looking up can add weight to your face &/or an air of superiority
Pro Secret: Sign into your own, private zoom meeting 15 min before your scheduled meeting to scope out your outfit, lighting, and camera positioning. Take a few moments to address any tweaks - OR celebrate how great you look and feel!
